Pumpkin Patch

It was our annual outing to the Pumpkin Patch. We met everyone at the farm at 4 today. I told Cole that if we were late, the pumpkins would disappear. He proceeded to tell me exactly how that would happen, something about roots and seeds sucking up the pumpkin. Poof! Cole found four perfect pumpkins and it was fun searching with Gramie, Umple Derrick, Aunt Veronica, Eliana, and Parker. Unfortunately, Grandpa and Dad couldn't make the early hour.

Eliana refused to take a picture and the picture with Cole on the hay bails...nothing short of a miracle because it was his turn to refuse, but somehow by the grace of God, he smiled just once. I mean let's be real, the whole outing is a really just a photo shoot.
Then, we headed over to Casa de Velez for some homemade chili and beer bread. Thanks for a great evening everyone. It was fun to hang out and laugh at the kids....especially Parker saying "batman". Love you guys!

CycloCross

Mr. W raced Cyclocross on Sunday. It was windy and bit chilly, but there was some blue skies to be had. The course was a lung burner (they always are) but this one had some steeps runs. The pack was about 90 racers viving to get a good position. It was fun to watch and cheer him along. Nice work CV.
Cole was playing the harmonica everytime daddy went by. You could hear, right Dad? That was our version of the cowbell since we forget it at home.

And the day wouldn't be complete without a atleast one good pout.

Fall Festival & Halloween Carnival

Saturday was filled with Halloween activities. First, we went to Cole's Fall Festival at Emerald. They had tons of games for the kids, good food, and it was fun to watch all the kids run around.
Then we went to a Halloween Carnival at the high school. Gramie, Eliana, Parker, Sofia, Cole and I showed up ready for some action. The event was free and they played games and ate candy (oops) .... I ate two bags of cotton candy. Seriously. Two. Why?
Cole and Fia even went through the Haunted House. They were so brave but boy did they get scared at the end. That's all they talked about for the next hour. We even got the re-enactment about 20 times of how they screamed and ran holding hands. Super cute!

Hiking: Betasso Link

Cole and I hiked Boulder Falls last weekend. While beautiful, it wasn't what I thought I'd been missing. We were hoping for more of a hike, but it's just a short walk to the falls, which weren't flowing heavy. It was still beautiful and we were the only ones there.

We left and made our way down Canyon a bit to Betasso Link trail. Mr. W. and I use to ride our mountain bikes quite a bit at Betasso. The link part of the trail isn't ridden very often so again, Cole and I found ourselves alone. It was heaven. We throw tons of rocks trying to hit certain objects. Cole is a great aim. It was fun exploring with my little Monkey.

Girls Weekend - Chicago Style

Mindy and Wendy

Last weekend, I met a few of my girlfriends in Chicago. It was a fast and fun weekend. We shopped Michigan Ave., ate at great restaurants, hit the spa, and even managed to get in a couple of good runs.

Night on the town! Gina, me, Elana, and Mindy
Sweet Mindy - love you girl.
The ladies!
Rach - The Chicago trip brought back lots of memories - Vegas, Cali, NYC. We've had some insane ladies weekends. Missed you on this trip. It's interesting finding new adult friends. But, you'll always know me best. The trips aren't as insane now. Partying and clubbing has turned into shopping and eating great food. I wouldn't trade it. Let's do a spa trip in AZ next.

Skate City

Cole and Chase - Skate City

Cole is so sweet with this friends. I love meeting all the little first graders.

Glenwood Springs or Bust!

We had a blast in Glenwood Springs! The drive up was relatively uneventful, except for the fact that Cole got a bit car sick. So after about an hour, we had to pull over, poop on the side of the road, stop at the next town and get some pepto and tylenol and of course, a halloween ball to play four square. After all that and ginger ale, he was ok.

After we checked into the motel, we decided pizza was our dinner of choice so off we went in search of a pizzeria. Pepperino's was lucky enough to have us, followed by some ice cream from Klaidescoop.

The next morning, we had a breakfast at the motel and then headed over to the pool. It was a perfect day, the water was awesome, and the hot tub super super hot. We even went down the water slide four times and enjoyed more ice cream.

It was fun to laugh and play with Gramie and Cole. Our trip home was delayed an hour on i-70 because an RV caught fire at the top of Vail pass. Even though it was mildly irritating, I'm sure it wasn't as bad for us as it was for the peeps with the burning RV. Another opportunity to practice patience and more Gramie to think of creative things she could pee in while in the car.
