Spring Break '12 - Day Seven

First snowboard lesson! Your instructor, Ben, said you did great. You learned to stop and the basics of turning. Let's see how you do today.

Spring Break '12- Day Six

Moab to Keystone. We spent the day skipping rocks, playing arcade games and walking around Breckinridge.

Then we found our way to the townhouse in Keystone and enjoyed some pool time before Katie and Zane arrived.

Big day tomorrow on the mountain.

Estes Park

We spent half of Sunday in Estes Park hiking to Dream Lake. We really did need snowshoes but it wasn't too bad. It was a gorgeous day and again, whine free! When we parked the car it wasn't sounding too great, like boiling radiator kind of thing. Then, we noticed all the coolant on the ground. We decided to let the car simmer down, literally, and enjoy what we came to do.

However, it's a bit hard to enjoy a hike when you wonder how you might be getting home. We talked through all our options a couple of times but true to my nature, I still continued to worry about it. You reminded me of our options "Mom, you need to relax. It's simple. We can call a tow truck and Grandma. There. Ok? Can you please stop worrying now?"

We got back to the car, filled the car up with coolant that happened to be in the back (thank you sweet baby Jesus) and off we went. We made it home with no problems but the car went straight to the shop the next morning. New radiator cap and fan clutch and it's good as new.

Then, we rented Hugo and Cars2 and called it a day!

What a wonderful weekend.

Outdoor Play

Sugar,
Before we met up with Rachel, Ryder, and Sierra, we HAD to stop and get some green hair paint for your hair to celebrate St. Patty's Day! You were a hit all day.

We hung out with Rachel and the kids, went to the park where you got a major ouchie on your shin when you fell and slammed into edge of the structure. It's still sore and looks like it should be. You were a trooper but we all know how badly that hurts.

After that we grabbed a shake and food then we headed for Boulder where we met up with the Nufio's. It had been so long since I'd seen Dena. It was great to enjoy the weather with them. You and Fia led the way and our hike was whine free! People passing by kept commenting on your hair. Oh how you love the attention. We followed the hike with a treat from Cold Stone Creamery - thanks to Dena and Cesar for buying your favorite - cotton candy ice cream with gummy bears!

Next up was more park fun with you and Fia while we waited for our friends band to play. Quick poop stop for Coley to the Holiday Inn where we helped ourselves to some free popcorn on our way out. Then, we made our way to Upslope Brewery for some live music by the Wolftones. You quickly developed a crush on both the lady lead singer and a cute teenage girl soccer player with purple braces. You and Fia ran around, listened to the music and had a blast.

We finished off our night at the Nufio's with some pizza and watched CU in the NCAA tournament.

What a day! We left the house at 8:30 and got home at 8:00 that night.

I love you so much,
Mama

Go 122! Go! Go! Go!
Darling - you were amazing at the Boulder Indoor Cycling race on Friday. You were focused and excited and FAST. Way to take 1st place. It was so much fun to watch you sprint around the track and then hop on your bike for three laps of riding. Excellent work.

You were so tired when we got home and you slept until 8 am (unheard of)!

So proud of you darling.

Love,
Mom

Free hamburgers tomorrow

A few weeks ago we went to Bounce with Uncle D and family. It was lots of fun and after we were done jumping, we ate at a small little diner that was awesome. Thanks for hanging Pope's.

Day at the park

Sugar,
We ate lunch at Uncle Derrick's and then walked over to the park. You and Ellie played in the dirt while Parker played with his squinkies.

We left the Pope's and headed to another playground for some fun with Julian. Instead of playing with dirt, it was gravel and the goal was to fill up the slide.

You were dirty from your head to your toes. A shower, some dinner, and relaxing with a movie is how we finished out our weekend.

I love you monkey.

Movie star

Darling,
You were in a movie that premiered on Tuesday, February 28, Captain Underpants and the Evil Underwear.

Ms. Alex was the director and you were Captain Underpants. Your favorite line was "I'm so eeeevil"! Pretty good acting by you and your fellow SAC mates. Ms. Alex left some bloopers at the end which were so cute.

All the parents were invited for pizza and we ended up sitting with Carson and his mom.

I love you my famous little movie star.
Xoxo. Your biggest fan,
Mom

Skate City

Another trip to Skate City with Carson. You boys had a blast. We ended the night rough at our house with two rowdy boys and one impatient Mom. But you two sure are cute!
